Symbolic - Black

  • By popular demand we present this limited edition bottle in collaboration with artist Ghananian artist, Sarah Owusu. Both the artist and GiveMeTap believe that having strong values and practising them must be at the foundation in all that we do especially when running a business. So we created a bottle to symbolise this commitment using four key Adinkra symbols which derive from Cote D'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) and Ghana. They are visual symbols which represent concepts or aphorisms. We decided on Gye Nyame which translates to "Only God", Akoma which symbolises love, the heart and ties into patience and tolerance, and Adinkranehene which symbolises "Authority" and Mpatapo which symbolises "Harmony".

These bottles are gorgeous to touch as they come in a soft-touch matte finish.

Every GiveMeTap bottle you purchase, we give a person in Africa 5 years of clean water.

Artist behind the bottle

Sarah Owusu is a young, gifted, African artist whose colourful pieces often pack a powerful punch. The Ghanaian artists has a unique gift which she discovered whilst dealing with a difficult recovery and now she uses her gift to celebrate black history.

She strives to show how we can use bold colours and encompass traditional African symbolism in a contemporary way to emphasize how beautiful and brilliant African-inspired art can be. Together, we wanted to showcase our connecting to the people we support. The ‘Owusuism’ GiveMeTap collection showcases some of Sarah's work.
